Morro Bay Surf School and Kayak Tours teaches people to surf and guides them through the water on this stretch of the Central Coast. We run group and private lessons, summer camps for kids, board and wetsuit rentals, and four different guided kayak tours from the harbor here down to Avila Beach.
Everything is full service. A lesson comes with a board and a wetsuit. A tour comes with a kayak, a paddle, a life vest, a guide, and every photo we take of you out there. There is nothing to rent separately and nothing to buy at the end.
We take all skill levels, ages 6 and up, and we run all year. Most people who book with us have never stood on a board or sat in a kayak before, and that is exactly who these lessons are built for.
What You Get
Surf and Kayak, One Outfit
We are the only company in Morro Bay running both surf instruction and guided kayak tours, so you can do a lesson one morning and a tour the next.
Everything Included
Boards, wetsuits, kayaks, paddles, and life vests all come with the booking. Tours include a photo package at no extra cost.
Local Guides
Our instructors know which breaks work at which tide and where the otters are that week. That is the difference between a tour and a rental.
Beginners Welcome
Most of our bookings are first-timers. Ages 6 and up, no experience assumed, and instructors in the water with you the whole time.
Open All Year
Lessons run every season, not just summer. Camps are the seasonal piece, June through early September.

We are affiliated with Central Coast Surf School, which has been teaching this coastline for over fifteen years.
Morro Bay and South
Surf lessons and camps run out of Morro Bay. Our kayak tours launch from four different points along the coast, from the harbor here down through Avila Beach and Pismo Beach. We are appointment only and we meet you at the water, so the exact spot comes by email after you book.
